Fuel Control Switches

Hello guys!

I need some information from the programmers and tech geniusses here on this forum.

Bearing in mind that I have no programming experience.

How would I make a USB switch move a fuel control switch in PSX?

I can't find a keyboard command for it so I guess it must be done then with these Q variables which I know nothing about.

I want USB switches on a throttle quadrant to move the fuel control switches in PSX.

Any information would be appreciated.

Cheers
Christo

hi christo -

afaik, if the function is not listed in the default psx usb assignments, you'll have to use your own i/o system, or use the FDS i/o cards or similar.... (psxseecon)

Hi Christo,

I will connect the fuel cutoff switches to the FDS cards. This works fine with my overhead panel. The drivers for PSX you can ask for here:

Hope this helps

Thank you for the reply guys.

I see on the driver page there are only modules for the radio panel, CDU, MCP etc...

Will they work for what I want to do as well or am I going to need a driver specifically made for my needs?

What FDS card will work best for me? I see there are quite a few and not sure what I need?

Thanks for the patience, I am new to this type of sim building. I really appreciate advice and being pointed in the right direction.

Regards,
Christo

HI christo

The driver for the cards is interfaceIT - a PSX compatible version is in progress (I'm not sure if it's released) - perhaps jon boe can answer this...

http://www.aerowinx.de/forum/topic.php?post=20697#post20697  see the last post here.

about which cards - perhaps a good place to start would be a 32 in / 64 out..?

http://www.flightdecksolutions.com/components/interface-it/fds-sys3x-system-interface-card-32in-64out/

essentially they are all the same, just the number of inputs and outputs vary....  so it depends how you're going to split up the i/o from your hardware....

and before you know it, you'll be heading off to the desert to buy yourself a deck....  :-)

Thanks for the info fc!

Think I will start with the 32/64. And wait for the driver.

Who knows where it will end.  :D

Hi Jon,

are there any updates for the drivers regarding Engine Start Switches and Annunciator Light Test?

Could it be possible to add Keyboard commands for each Engine start?? Or a USB offset for Joystick controllers ??

Thanks

Engine start?

You mean fuel cutoff switches? They alone don't start the engines; you would also need starter switches.

Such requests for extra USB functions and extra keys are never ending; actually, I provide all functions already: via the TCP/IP network. The network is stable, flexible, provides everything a mockup needs (switches, lights, backlighting, indications etc. for the entire deck), and can be extended even more. My intention with that network is actually to stop all fumbling with key encoders and USB and all those never ending extra workarounds. That's why this network has been developed in all the years. It's much more efficient and maintenance friendly. I would really recommend to use it, instead of wasting time with fragile MSFS style solutions. Offsets? There are no offsets in PSX. Offsets are for hackers :-)

Brilliant! Love it!   :D

Sorry Hardy,

If my comments about offsets where insulting to you... I only know FSX and this software of yours is totally new for me. I am an active Airbus captain by the way with more than 8000 hours jet time  and I call them engine start switches cause unfortunately that is the name on the A320 that I fly so no need to get all technical there with me. Trust me I know.

I won't ask for any other USB assignment requests. I am also developing a product for your software but I am not trying to go against the flow but is something several guys here have asked for.

Really sorry the comments have insulted you it was not my intention to do so.

Hi Roberto,

no, you weren't insulting me :-) No at all, really!

Sorry if my reply was sounding like that. That wasn't my intention.

Best wishes,
