Nose Wheel Steering

Hello-

While I am not able to build a home cockipt (yet) I do have the Aerosoft MCP/EFIS/EICAS, CH Yoke and Pedals, and as I have alluded to in another post- I am installing a touch screen panel for the CDU/Overhead and Center Pedestal.

I have looked all over for a suitable nose wheel steering control- even buying a Griffin Power Mate- but nothing works.  I do NOT want a joystick with twist grip- rather something small and neat, I can place by my  left hand.  I DID  search this and other forums without success- any ideas?

Should anyone have the GoFlight TQ and wish to part with it I would love to purchase it- as an upgrade from my CH TQ.

Hi Carl

I took the cable, circuit board and one pot from an old usb joystick then built a box with a lever attached to the pot and to two springs to keep it centred. Windows sees the joystick but only one axis moves. Works fine.

Hi All  I too built a tiller similar to Garrys.  I used  a fishing rod 'lever" as the control lever. It is built in a similar way to the real thing.

I´ve made a homebuild-tiller a few month ago (airbus style).

It´s the "mechanic" of a thrustmaster car-steering-wheel in a simple box with
a handle from www.routech.ro

Costs: about 50 Euros.

But unfortunately i sold this on ebay a few weeks ago.

Drückst Du den Knüppel nach vorn, werden die Häuser größer, wenn Du den Knüppel ziehst, werden sie kleiner. Dies gilt nur, wenn Du den Knüppel nicht dauernd ziehst, dann werden die Häuser auch größer.

Sorry Carl - I'm out of the country so can't take a photo to send.  :(

Mine is very simple. I took a 100k pot, mounted it with the shaft horizontal and attached a spare lever and knob from my goflight throttle controls (after drilling a hole in it to fit the spindle and another for the springs). I then soldered wires from the pot to the circuit board, replacing one of the original joystick pots, and then built a small box to enclose the lot. I attached the box to the side wall so that the lever moves forward and backwards.
