Yoke calibration again

Hello,

I have a problem with my yoke. Not sure if there is something I can do about it.

I'm a Mac user.

So here is the problem...

In PSX with the yoke centred the axis value show -152 for X and -90 for Y.

So I cannot get full deflection in all directions and with the yoke centred I am sitting with left aileron input. And I am not aware of any calibration software that is available for OSX.

I calibrated the yoke on a old laptop which has windows on and that gets everything centred.

So any suggestions on how to fix this problem? or am I out of luck on OSX.

thanks
chris

Chris-

Have you tried setting null zones of -160 and -100- if you need reversed throws, or just 160 and 100 if normal direction?

Hi C,

Changing the null zones to -160 and -100 centres the controls, but then opposite flight control deflection only starts when the yoke axis has moved through about 50% and you don't get full deflection in that direction.

Ok- then it's time for Hardy or another more qualified forum member- sorry...

Thanks anyway Carl!

I now have even more problems. I tried installing USB overdrive (just to see if that might be able to do something - stupid idea), but that made the yoke totally undetectable by PSX.

I then uninstalled it, now the yoke works fine again except for the calibration issue, but PSX's frame rate has gone down the drain. I don't know if it started after I connected the yoke for the first time or after the USB overdrive debacle.

where I use to get between 50-60fps I now sit between 10-20fps? (same layouts and situations)

Not sure if something is different with the Mac or PSX...

Frustrating...

Hope some of the experts have some advice!

Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris,

in that case I would restart your computer.

I once had a similar problem with a Logitech stick; the elevator was on -300 when centered. I guess something went wrong in the USB system in OSX during several USB reconnections. Restarting the computer fixed it.

Hi Hardy,

I tried restarting, but to no avail. When you start the simulator and go the the USB page the values are 0, as soon as you move the yoke they jump to the other values.

As I mentioned on my old windows laptop everything works. You get full deflection when looking at the yoke symbol top left, but not on the mac.

Any ideas why the frame rate has gone down for the same situations and layouts?

I have restarted, reinstalled everything that I thought would help.

Hi Chris,

sorry, I don't know. I guess, if your Win laptop works, the problem lies in your Mac. Check that no other hidden programs are running. Check the Mac's Activity Monitor.
