Hi all,

FDS drivers for the CDU & MCP/EFIS/DSP to interface to PSX are available

at:

http://www.tekworx.ca/downloads.html

FDS-CDU Controller v3.1.5
FDS-Glare Software v1.8.1

The configuration manual for the CDU is here:

http://www.flightdecksolutions.com/assets/pdf/FDS-PRO-MX-CDU-MAN-1.7.pdf

Setup for the Aerowinx simulator starts on page 29.

Not of any great use really until PSX is released but here they are.  The
other interfaces are still being developed.

Cheers,

Jon

:P im jumping up and down in my seat lol. I wonder if more drivers will be released for the FDS MIP, pedestal and overhead?

Mariano

The MIP, Pedestal and overhead use the FDS SYS interface cards.  They are still in development but will be available prior to the release of PSX.

As an aside, it took me less than an hour to provision all three once we had the inputs programmed.  The outputs are more problematic in that you  need to identify the output, then assign it.  With a couple hundred outputs you need to identify the output, then assign it... so press the button, look over all the possibilities until you find it, then assign it.  Easy to do but not as fast as the inputs.

Cheers,

Jon

GodAtum

Thanks for the info. Are you talking about the 3 CDUs? What outputs do they have?

jb747

The three CDU's are covered in the first post regarding the drivers.  The outputs are VGA to each of the three screens.

Thanks amazing work! Would we have to download and configure the interfaceIT software as usual?

jb747

Yes.  Details to follow when development has been completed.

Cheers,

Jon

Big thanks to Jon Boe, Peter Cos, team FDS and Brent @Tekworx - really...!

GodAtum

A question about cockpit configuration. Let's say PC 1 is used for displaying the ND and PFD; and PC 2 is used to run the avionics for the overhead.

How can I stop PC 1 from running the overhead stuff? Do I just move the overhead into view on PC 2?

Jeroen Hoppenbrouwers

You simply move the separators on PC1 so that you do not see the overhead panel. It won't run if you don't see it.

Will there be software available for the other hardware parts such as the pedestal and overhead?

jb747

Yes.  It's almost complete and the user guide is in development.  Plans are to have it available prior to the release of PSX.

Cheers,

Jon

Awesome, that is fantastic news. I need to try and make contact with FDS about their 747 products. It seems they cater for only the semi-pro and pro markets, not home builders?

farrokh747

GodAtum, FDS does indeed cater to the home builder (as well as the Big Boys) , we have all been using their products for years....    browse through the FDS forums, you'll see a lot of discussion on all their modules ....

Hi, I am not sure how to PM you but I was going to ask about cost. I do not want to waste Pete Cos's time by not having enough money (my budget is around £15k).

Their DSTD is $CAD 13k but their website does n ot display prices for the yoke and throttle.

farrokh747

hi - many of the prices are listed on the site, CDU's RCP's etc - I wouldn't be able to help you with their current prices anyway, suggest you mail them with your q's -

Hi Jon,

I got confused with AdaptPSX! I am looking forward to learning about how to interface between FDS and PSX.

jb747

Information on PSX InterfaceIT upcoming.  I was thinking mid-August for a release, not 10 days earlier.

Just trying to validate performance on different Windows versions to make sure things work when downloaded, then finalize the manual and the installer.

Stay tuned.

Cheers,

Jon

Hi Jon, hope you are well. Any news on the drivers?
