With regard to the chicks..
Many moons ago I actually had something like that happen. A 707 freighter into Port Harcourt - we had to go through some very bumpy conditions on the way in and it caused our freight containers of day-old chicks to break open.
I actually had a chick in my foot-well as I flew the approach. Highly amusing!

Good thread, I don't remember seeing it back in 2013. I like the self-portraits. I was much older than 14 before I learned what a tilt-shift lens was.
