I think the WXR page cannot be completely handled by sliders only. There's not enough room for the many adjustment features I'm having in mind. It'll be a mix probably.

Agreed - in fact the SimWx SimMETAR page I was referring to has both numerical entry and sliders for different features as well as the 'pre-set conditions' button I mentioned (which sets all values for a given condition like CAT II minimums - these values can then be further edited if needed).  If you don't have a copy of Tom's program around, I could send you a couple of screen shots.
