D) What's New
This patch will correct some minor anomalies in the systems simulations.
1. Autobrakes can now be set to "RTO" whether IRS aligned or not.
2. The memory limit of 100 navaids per sector has
been "bypassed" as follows: If the aircraft is below FL200 the receiving range of long-range navaids is reduced. So, more memory can be allocated for "secondary" terminal navaids. Vice
versa, when above FL200, the memory is primarily reserved for long-range navaids in far distances, and secondary low power navaids may not be received if memory full.
3.
Unwanted climb with speed on elevator during VNAV descent with MCP speed intervention: This anomaly is now supposed to be eliminated ("IDLE" mode will automatically re-engage when required).
4.
Some "fine adjustments" have been made in the VNAV submode routines to improve take-off and approach operations.
5. Now, during VNAV climb, the A/T mode annunciation
ALWAYS reads "THR REF".
6. When starting a FLCH descent the A/T mode annunciation now initially reads "THR" before changing to "HOLD".
7.
Cruise waypoints on the LEGS pages no longer allow speed or altitude constraints. Like in the real FMC, any attempt to make a large font entry on a waypoint that belongs to the CRUISE phase
of the flight will trigger an INVALID ENTRY message. Only altitudes with an "S" suffix can be entered (for better fuel/ETA calculations).
8. When "CLB" was the thrust limit during the CRUISE,
VNAV will now change the limit to "CRZ" as soon as VNAV DESCENT is activated.
9. Altitude capture with MCP "V/S" mode now keeps
the white "SPD" or "THR" light on the MCP illuminated if it was active before.
10. MCP "THR" and "SPD" can no longer be deselected by
a second button push. Now either another mode must be selected or the A/T must be disconnected.
11. IRS "Time To Align" indication is now active even when IRS position has not yet been entered.
12. "ENTER IRS POSITION" message is displayed when a "full" IRS alignment is completed, and the IRS position has not yet been entered or the position
disagrees with the computed position by more than 1° latitude.
13. When autosequencing an LNAV route waypoint, any waypoint entered in 4L on PROG 1/2 page
("ENROUTE WPT") was accidently "autosequenced" to the next waypoint as well. This bug is now eliminated.
14. The Flight Director command bars are now
automatically removed when "ROLLOUT" is engaged during Autoland operations.
15. Fuel XFeed Valves 2+3: Valves now remain closed as long as flaps are out of up, whether aircraft on ground or not.
16. Fuel Gravity Transfer Tank 1+4: The transfer now remains balanced also in coordinated turns. The bank angle and slip must now be "excessive" until gravity transfer stops on one side.
17.
Hydraulic Demand Pumps are now also activated when moving just the Fuel Control Switch to Cutoff, even if engine RPM is momentarily sufficient and no other failures have occured.
18.
Gear lever can now be placed in OFF position also when aircraft on ground.
19. Wheel well fire due to brake overheat in a retracted gear: In this case the EICAS message
screen wasn't automatically "refreshed" to display the fire message (Recall button required). This bug is now eliminated.
20. EICAS engine vibration indicator reads "N1"
instead of "LPT" if Rolls-Royce engines are installed.
21. In a "cold and dark" cockpit the secondary EICAS select switches now remain inactive so
that no "cheating" update screen flicker occurs on the blank EICAS screen.
22. "73 tonnes anomaly" on aircraft with CF6 engine struts (smaller tanks): Entering 73000 kgs on
the "Preflight Items" menu generated a fuel disagree message and only 65800 kgs in the tanks. This error on the Instructor's Page has been eliminated.
23.
EICAS messages for "Oxygen Low" couldn't be reset on the Instructor's Page. This bug is now eliminated.
24. The video player generated a "ghost" mouse
click in the very first playback of a sim session, causing an unwanted, non-recorded click on the TOGA button etc. in the first second. This bug is now supposed to be eliminated.
25.
Instructor's Page: ATIS check box "per Text" / "per Sound" selections can now be saved in situation files.
26. Weather Random function for baro pressure:
The "random range" has been reduced to avoid excessive pressure changes from area to area.
- No further modifications have been made -
Best wishes, Hardy Heinlin
