Garry,

thx for your precious post and all of the information contained in it. Now I finally get confirmations of why some installers ( Like Aerosoft Madeira ) also got nuts when installing on my rig, where only FSX:SE is installed right now - they found spoofed FSX install entries in the registry, and I had to choose "FSX" and not "FSX:SE" as an option for correct install...

Your post also contributed towards considering a serious move into P3Dv2 as soon as I can invest on a better rig.

Anyway, PSX is now running smooth as silk, stutter free, with only 2D no cockpit view, or a 3d view where I have disabled all of the gauges in the default 744.

For those with stutters, enabling HPET (High Performance Event Timers) in BIOS and OS might help. Improved P3D v2.5 smoothness a lot on my rig. Those major stutters seen during turns with VisualPSX v7 are gone as well.

In addition
- i deleted the shader ache (not sure if required though)
- i let P3D create a new prepar3d.cfg
- added only OPTIMIZE_PARTS=1 in the SIM section of prepar3d.cfg

Biggest Thanks to Garry, for his continuous support and improvements.

Hi Don,

PSX is way, way better than PS1 and if you can afford it I recommend moving up from PS1 to PSX.

VisualPSX is also much better than VisualPS1 and there are an increasing number of quality add ons being produced by other people to support and enhance PSX.

Getting everything to work together is also much easier than it was with PS1.

The final build of VisualPS1 for MS2004 (FS9) can be downloaded from here.

The complete package of VisualPS1 for new users can be downloaded from here.

Cheers,
