Hello gentlemen,

I don't know if this has been already discussed,

but I really ran into trouble when I tried to connect these two machines:

Client: Windows 7, JRE 1.8u45, PSX 1.0.5-beta11
Server: Linux, JRE 1.7u79, PSX 1.0.5-beta11

On the client, besides from PSX having some trouble with the Instructor Pages buttons,
the client in 4 of 5 cases did not sync with the server, although they
seemed to be properly connected.

Since I downgraded the Windows machine to JRE 1.7.u79 to match the Linux machine, client and server are syncing immediately, and PSX on the Windows machine is also running properly.

Maybe this is helpful to resolve issues for some users. It's a bit inconvenient to download the (latest 1.7, but outdated) JRE 1.7u79. You can find it here: http://java.com/en/download/manual_java7.jsp, but the link will be removed soon. You still can get older versions from the Download Archives, though.

Hi Dennis,

I doubt that the Java version disagreement is the problem. There is a common TCP/IP standard, and there are just ASCII text messages. Normally, this stuff doesn't change with Java version updates.

If your Instructor buttons don't work, there is already a problem in the local Java version itself.

Java 8, Update 45 should not be used. It's buggy.

Maybe that's the sole problem, then.
