Interesting article on the current market prices of 747-400s. What parts of this article are accurate or predictive of future trends? One example - 48 of 404 747-400s are allegedly in storage - that's only about 8%... http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-06-13/boeing-747-prices-tumble-as-higher-fuel-costs-end-23-year-reign.htmlExcerpts: "Prices for Boeing (BA) Co. 747-400s, the most popular wide-body plane, are tumbling as carriers rush to replace what were once their flagship aircraft with newer and more fuel-efficient models." and "Forty-eight of the 404 humpbacked passenger 747-400s worldwide have also been placed in storage, according to the London-based aviation consultancy, as the once “Queen of the Skies” is shunned for 777s and Airbus SAS A380s. " and "“There’s not a lot of demand for the 747,” said Paul Sheridan, Ascend’s Hong Kong-based head of risk analysis. “They’re mostly being broken up for parts.” " _______________ Best wishes,

Certainly more than 10% They are also trashing some 737NG aircraft, the 737-600 without and the 737-700 with winglets do not seem to be top of class there, fuel efficiency is all that counts. « Last edit by frumpy on Fri, 15 Jun 2012 08:15:57 +0000. »

During my increasingly distant youth, I could do quite complex arithmetic accurately in my head. Soon, I'll be counting by using my fingers and toes! _______________ Best wishes,
