Please post technical questions about the Forum software under this topic. That may help people finding an answer later.

The new Forum software is totally different than the previous software, but after having used it for quite a while, we are confident it will serve the 744 community pretty well.

The Forum software itself has a list of Frequently Asked Questions that you may find useful. You can access it by the FAQ button at the top of the page.

Should you want to post images on the Forum, please make them not wider than 500 pixels. You can use the

tag to place your image.

If you do not have a spot on the 'net to put your image file, you can use a dedicated Forum file drop at www.hoppie.nl/forum/. However this is not guaranteed to last forever.

Hi all,

please don't forget the hints that were displayed during your registration dialog:

1. In order to keep the forum fast and uncluttered, please don't put images into your signature (if you want to use signatures at all).

2. If you wish to insert an avatar, please check that its size is not larger than 150 x 150 pixels.

And I would like to add:

3. Please don't use animated avatars (relax & ommm...)

4. Please compress the file size as much as possible.

Thank you! :-)

Hey hoppie, why don't you create a separate forum for Forum Tech Questions ? :)

Because it's not necessary to put every topic into a separate forum.

Edit: On the other hand, it's also not necessary to keep this topic sticky if forum-related questions are rare. OK, I'll make a separate forum :-)

Can you move single posts (such as the time zone minithread) to this Forum as well?

No, I can only move threads.

Here's your hint on time zones:

Jeroen Hoppenbrouwers wrote
I've changed my date display to say "2009-05-23 01:47" in my local time zone. Put "Y-m-d H:i" in your Edit Options > Date Format field to get this.

The date settings and time zones are for what YOU see, not for what others see. The Forum keeps time in UTC no matter what settings.

Y-m-d H:i is now the standard format for every new member.

Can I organise the posts so I see the latest first?

Click on the two arrows ">>" on the "Active Topics" page or any other index page.

Also, check that you have cookies enabled in your browser.

Especially if you visit regularly, this can be an alternative:
the small blue icons take you directly to first unseen post.

I have a couple of questions cap in hand naturally :-)

Could this be done and would it be worth while?

a) a button for attachments of pictures, as the members are quite spread out across the globe this may save on accent divide.

b) a separate section for builders naaaaaaaa thinking about maybe b) is not such a good idea

just a thought.
