Has a Reverser ever deployed inflight in a 744 ?

Apparently this resulted is a catastrophic accident around 1989 for a b767


Does anyone know if it ever happened to a 744 ?

I don't recall it happening, but REV amber indications appeared from time to time on takeoff and in flight. The cowl position sensors, especially on RB211 engines, registered the slight aft movement of the cowl when they were subjected to air loads (i.e. drag) from normal flight. Bulletins came out regarding the repositioning of sensors, which helped, and there were memos issued relating to the torque forces necessary when restoring the cowls manually to the closed position during maintenance, but I don't think everyone got the paperwork for these things :P
