Which disciplined country is this? A full 744 in 10 minutes?

I saw an article about boarding time studies back when the A380 was in development. Apparently Airbus wanted to see how Japanese airlines achieved remarkably short plane/deplane times with domestic ANA 747's and sent a crew out to research it. ANA was then and maybe now flying 747's up and down the home islands like regional jets in the US and got them loaded/unloaded in record times. I think Airbus concluded that 'cultural differences' would prevent the ANA techniques from working for other parts of the world. I gathered from the article that the passengers were mostly business travelers who traveled light, followed directions and all got up simultaneously after the seat-belt sign was out, with their (very light) briefcases/laptops and then proceeded to move out in an orderly manner.

Here is FiFLi beta 0.47.

Recommending to download complete package:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/1khy0ds3z3dzxzu/FiFLi.zip?dl=0

or if you want just main jar file:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/wvt0tz4ii3smtn8/FiFLi.jar?dl=0

News are:
beta 0.47
- you will now get "Cabin ready" when descending ...
- adjusted boarding simulation, now it takes at least 30+ minutes  ...
also not to forget: If you wish to end boarding early, just rotate FLT DK DOOR selector to DENY and release it. You will hear flight attendant telling you that boarding is complete and sounds of boarding noise will stop.
- also tweaked boarding noise to sound better :-)
- feature added : First officer will execute runway entry procedure:
--> when you are ready to enter runway: rotate FLT DK DOOR selector to DENY and release it. This will signal that you are ready to enter the runway and you are telling your First officer to execute runway entry procedure. In this case First officer will: call flight attendants to take seats for take off, turn on landing lights, turn off taxi lights, turn on strobe, put XPDR to RA/TA position.

Here is FiFLi beta 0.48 :-)

Few small bugs cleared away:

beta 0.48
- First officer now correctly turns off weather radar after leaving runway
- First officer now resets stab trim to 6.0 after landing and leaving runway

Optimal is to update jar file, but if you want you can download complete package.

Complete package is here:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/1khy0ds3z3dzxzu/FiFLi.zip?dl=0

and only main jar file:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/wvt0tz4ii3smtn8/FiFLi.jar?dl=0

I think I totally forgot to drop you a message, but I've been following FiFli for several versions now.
I really love this little addition to Psx. It really adds to the immersion.
Thanks a lot for sharing your work with us !

Hi Vito

Thanks for the addon - nice to have some chatter from the passenger compartment :)

Is it possible for you someway along the road to include possibility for adjusting the volume ? - EDIT: RTFM - Controlled by PA knob on audio panel :)

Thanks

Hello Vito,

Congratulations for this add-on. Any chance to have one day a French voice pack ?

Creating any new voice pack for the original FlightCrew program was quite simple. Follow these instructions:

http://www.hoppie.nl/flcrew/

I bet it is not much more difficult to do the same for the new program?

here is FiFLi 0.49, nothing major changed except:

- FiFLi will announce boarding time in its own window and also when boarding process is finished ... now you can plan your departure more precisely :-) don't forget that if you just don't have that much time, you can rotate FLT DK DOOR selector to DENY and boarding will stop imidiatelly :-)
- when you park at the gate FiFLi will randomize door opening side ... you can expect left or maybe right side doors to be opened

Complete package is here:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/1khy0ds3z3dzxzu/FiFLi.zip?dl=0

and only main jar file:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/wvt0tz4ii3smtn8/FiFLi.jar?dl=0

Thank you guys,

Kurt :-))) Yes you can, PA knob or you can push it to disable any sound from attendants but this will not disable boarding noise ...

JP744, no problem but I don't speak french, any volunteers who speak french ?

Here is latest FiFLi beta 0.50, small bug fixed (hope so):

beta 0.50
- randomize external supplies and open doors after landing when parked at the gate now should work more reliable :-)

you don't need complete package but here it is:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/1khy0ds3z3dzxzu/FiFLi.zip?dl=0

this is recommended, just replace old jar file:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/wvt0tz4ii3smtn8/FiFLi.jar?dl=0

I could do the voice pack but I don't think my voice is very sexy for flight attendant announcements :D :D

A lady voice would be better ;)

maybe your overall (system) volume slider is set to low ... the problem is that if you pump volume to high in source file you will get more and more distorted sound even with small volume changes on the PA volume and to correct this I would need some normalization filter implemented into the code. This is the best I could do so far :? .... Sounds are optimized for mid level volume settings, so try to bring up system volume slider.

The cabin sound is extremely loud here on my system if I don't turn down the PA volume -- or the speaker volume :-)

Interesting. The briefing is I agree fine, it's the ambient sounds of people boarding the aircraft that are quiet....volumes are all turned up....

sorry, I misunderstood your question :-) Boarding sounds are deliberately made quieter because you are sitting behind closed door most of the time and not so close to the main boarding door. But I suppose I can make them sound a LITTLE louder, if I make them to loud it will become to boring or to distracting (at least for me ). You cant adjust volume of the boarding sounds through PA knob, it only adjusts FA announcements.

I've just grabbed this and I'm not sure if it's right but there's a complete additional copy of the directory structure within an FiFLi directory inside the zip. It looks as though it duplicates itself.

Hi Keith,

fixed, now it should be without extra dir, just disregard duplicated directory :-)

Here is:

beta 0.51
- boarding sounds now more loud (cca 20%)

you don't need complete package but here it is:

Vito,

Thanks, give it a try this weekend.

I understand what your saying on the level, but as low as it was might as well have it off :)

Hello Vito,

I can only run FiFLi on the PSX Server computer. If I try to run it from another computer, FiFLi cannot connect to server. Is it possible for you to add the possibility to specify the PSX Server IP adress and port on a window or setup file in order to use FiFLi over a network ?

I'd also make this request please. I like having the sim machine unfettered, and with multiple networked machines, this makes sense.

Ta!

I will look at it and it should not be a problem 8) , in next version I will add few more options / parameters for connection with PSX.

best regards

vito
