Does this mean a 5.1 system cannot be used with PSX? I am planning on using two very old guitar amps behind me, left and right, for engine noises.

Great picture. A wall of guitar amps behind the back :-) I would chose two VOX AC 30 with all knobs at 11.

First, a normal 5.1 system shouldn't invert the phase of one of two inputs; the above error shouldn't occur. Secondly, PSX doesn't provide any 5.1 material anyway; PSX uses no more than 2 output channels per computer (stereo). If you want to get 4 individual outputs, you need 2 computers; for 6 outputs 3 computers. Just use the two audio outputs (stereo jack) of a computer and connect them with two amps. On Instructor > Preferences > Audio select the sound groups for each PSX instance.
