Hi Hardy,

In my chrome browser your website is flagged as being not secure.
screen shot
Is it because you have not switched on https support, or?

Kind regards,

Hi Nico,

yes, no https.

You shouldn't post your credit card details on the forum.

We do know that there will be a time that most webbrowsers will get very vocal about web sites without HTTPS, in an attempt to get the whole web to secure itself. So it is possible that eventually even the Aerowinx web site will need to install the S even if it does not carry sensitive information. The time that S was only deemed required for payment transactions is long behind us; every login account nowadays is an asset to be protected.

If it gets that far, we'll fix it.

the mad hatter

why not use    duckduckgo    i try to avoid chrome and goggle

You probably mean Firefox or another non-Google browser; the duckduckgo search engine has little to do with this (full disclosure: I use duckduckgo, too, instead of Google or Bing).

However increasingly I find web sites that flat out refuse to work with anything but Google Chrome. We are back to the situation that IE6 ruled the web and every other browser was assumed nonstandard and not supported.

Hello all,

I would like to report that on Firefox, I also receive this information ("website not secure"), but knowing who is behind it, I do ignore it.

However, over the last couple of weeks, I sometimes get "Error 502", while trying to access Aerowinx website. This is only when connected on my mobile network (provider: Etisalat; UAE). While my home internet works fine (provider: Etisalat). I will try VPN to see if this mobile network behaves differently from a different country. However I find it strange. Maybe it is my device (have only one smart phone).

Cheers,
Andrej

A 502 "Bad Gateway" means that there is a proxy server in between your device and the Aerowinx server, that acts up. Most likely your mobile service provided uses such a proxy in an attempt to control traffic (cache) and/or filter the traffic (antivirus or other things). It is not necessarily an Aerowinx thing as you never get to hear what exactly was received from the Aerowinx site. For example if the proxy itself has a network interrupt to the wild internet, you will typically get a 502.

Thanks Hoppie! That is impossible, here in the UAE.  ;)  ::)
But it makes total sense. Funny thing is that the same provider has two set of rules for the same page.

Hi Hardy,

Well it does not look very professional, a not secure .com site ?!
Even my lekseecon site supports https, costing 1 Euro / month...

I'll change it later this year, probably.
