Stuck on step 1!

Hello Forum,

Previoulsy owned PS1.3 and took the plunge last week and bought PSX. I can't get passed step 1 which is very embarassing.

I'm inserted my DVD on my Win 7 desktop. DVD is detected. I click on the installer file as per the manual. The zipped folder then displays 7 .class files and a folder named META-INF.  No install process happens.

How do I install the sim?

your Win 7 seems to think the Install.jar file is a zip file. It's not a zip file. There is nothing to unzip.

Jar files are Java files. Is Java installed on your computer?

If double-clicking any jar file does not start Java, although Java is installed, an application other than Java may be assigned to all jar files. Should this be the case (very rare), this is the solution:
In Windows, right-click Install.jar, click "Open With...", then "Java".

Thanks for the quick reply. That has fixed it. For some reason winRAR claimed ownership of .jar files on my PC. The rightclick run with java option worked.
