BACARS Flight number question

Hi Guys,

in the docs of BACARS stands that the Flightnumber of the PSX FMC is used (3.2.2) but in BACARS I just can select BA and four numbers. In Hoppies FMC I set my flight number STV8904 and in ACARS log at Hoppie.nl two flight numbers are in the list. STV8904 and BA8904.. How can I get just my flightnumber. Is it possible ?

Thanks in advance...

Steffen

Hi Steffan,

In the XML file within the BACARS folder there is a config file entry of 'AirLineCode' set this to ST.

At the moment BACARS works with either the FMC flight number or the BACARS flight number.  This was because of the way certain components grew, and we ended up in a position of both.

I want to revisit this decision and work out how the real aircraft works a bit more.

But for now add an ST to have a 2 letter code version.  If you message either it will work.

Cheers
Gary

Hi Gary,

thanks for explanation. I changed iut into ST and on the center CDU still BA is to see, but thats absolutely not a big thing, I just was not sure that I understood everything...

Thanks again
