Hi All  Last week I received a phone call at my home stating it was a firm representing Microsoft, stating that my computer was in trouble and they would fix it for me. I THOUGHT I was reasonable intelligent and fell for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I immediately after found a trojan virus which allowed for hacking. Immediately removed but the damage has been done.

The most affected program is PSX which no longer responds to a the mouse and I have constant malfunctions  (is it possible that some DLL files have been compromised?).  I have four computers and PSX is effected in all four.

I have some plans to overcome the problem, but can see many hours of work ahead of me.

How stupid I was

Cheers

Hi Derek,

the mouse problem must be Microsoft Windows related.

Aircraft malfunctions are simulations that can be stored in situ files. Did you try other situ files, and do you know how to clear all malfunctions on the Instructor? This has nothing to do with Microsoft Windows.

Seems these scammers/hackers were a bit slow to find New Zealand  ;D  I get these calls several times a week! Sometimes I tell them I have a Mac and they hang up straight away. Sometimes I just hang up. Othertimes, I waste their time for as long as possible (so they're not scamming someone else). As long as I don't click on the link they provide me, I'm safe.

Anyway, sorry to hear they got you  :(

419 Fraud....

Once or twice a year I get these type of calls or mails.
Millions are lost.. by -not- dealing with them..;)

The number "419" refers to the section of the Nigerian Criminal Code dealing with fraud, the charges and penalties for offenders.

More funny is an organisation who tries to hit back  those crininals:
They are asked to fullfill strange missions which can produce comic pictures...:-).

lol.. No matter how safe you think you are...  Fraudsters just got me... I don't know how. One of my credit cards was just compromised  ;D  Luckily the Visa fraud squad was on their toes (They picked up some strange bills from Algeria and contacted me)
