Great to see ! Thanks.

I've never seen this in PSX....

May be you discovered here a big bug..., that this feature is not implemented....  ;)......(yet).

A switch in the Main Equipment Centre configures the automatics for 5th pod carriage... limiting such things as Vmo

Hardy,

Ha, ha..., as I (pre)cautiously wrote: "Not yet"....

Is there anyone here who has ever seen this as an:

addon aircraft for our scenery generator(s) ?

José maybe ?

Never seen it as an add-on - but I've done it for real ...;-)

How much rudder trim is required?

How much aileron trim is required?

How much fuel flow correction is required?

How much drag correction is required?

What's the additional weight?

Is it always under the left wing? Is left or right side selectable?

What's the VMO then?

Hi all,

When VH-OJS operated the QFA63 flight, it was negative RVSM. Does anyone have an insight into why this would be? OJS is ordinarily RVSM approved.

James.

QuoteWhat's the additional weight?

The video mentions the weight. It should be around the same weight as an engine. The fan blades and engine hydraulic pump are removed, but then additional cowlings are added for streamlining. I understand PW's can be carried as well as RB211's.

QuoteIs it always under the left wing? Is left or right side selectable?

Only the left wing.

QuoteWhat's the VMO then?

330kts to 29,272.5', then 0.85 mach.

I don't have any values for trim, etc, but the support strut for the spare engine is only about 15' from the fuselage skin to keep yawing to a minimum.

jcomm, I just merged your new thread with this thread. It's the same subject (unless it was intended for promo).

He says "around 6 tons, just a little bit over". If I use an average of 6200 kg for all both* engine models, I guess that would be a reasonable figure. It just affects the minimum limit on the Instructor's ZFW scale anyway, as the ZFW remains flexible.

* I just learned that GE engines "cannot be carried as a spare, as due to their design, there is a lack of ground clearance once mounted to the wing".

I didn't see this thread before I posted mine.

That's.... FAST!

Thx HH!

Hessel Oosten

Hardy,

Could you please give some clues, where to find the model with the 5 th pod.
I cannot find it.

Hessel

Will

You can add a fifth pod to the aircraft of your choice.

Instructor --> Situation --> Aerodynamics, then check the option on the top center of the page.
