Title: Released: PSX.NET Dispatch Suite Updated V2.0.4
Post by: Gary Oliver on Wed, 27 Dec 2017 23:19
All,

PSX.NET Dispatch is an 'ecosystem' for planning and dispatching of flights with PSX.  No payware flight planning software is required and flights can be planned and flown realistically with minimal effort.

What Is PSX.Net.Dispatch?

PSX.NET.Dispatch is a free web based scheduling and flight planning system that integrates with Simbrief, BACARS and PSX.NET to provide one stop shop for planning and scheduling and dispatching your PSX flights.
Once you have decided on a schedule you can plan your flight with a single click.

The web based interface has the following features:-

•   Schedule management
•   Single Click Flight Planning
•   Live Weather
•   Flight Plan PDF including NOTAMS and OPDEF in a variety of formats.
•   Accurate Loadsheet in BA format.
•   Web based CARD performance calculations.
•   VATSIM PreFile Support

Once you enter the PSX cockpit, upon entering the flight numbers in the ACARS menu the following items are automatically ‘downlinked’ to PSX with no manual intervention:-

•   FMC Route File to allow datalink route requests
•   FMC Wind Uplink integration
•   Winds PLN file for FS Global Weather or Active Sky integration
•   ZFW set according to loadsheet
•   MACTOW set according to loadsheet
•   Prefuel Set

There is of course an advanced planning option to allow you to specify your own route, alternates and weights.

When paired with the BACARS subsystem randomisation of payload and final loadsheets are of course provided after pushback.  The number of pax is also uploaded to BACARS to vary the cabin ready times.

I thought a little video explaining it might help... (Sorry about the horrible watermark)

Amazing software!

However, aviation is much too complex.  What we really need is:  (1) "Siri, land the plane, please" and (2) "Siri, dispatch the plane, please", and "Siri, take off, please".

<insert friendly grins here>.

Siri would definitively fix the alleged commercial pilot shortage - who needs the FMC or BACARS?:

"The U.S. will face a staggering shortage of pilots"

All,

Following extensive beta testing over the past few weeks by Britjet, Some BAV members and the Simfest Crew I have decided to release PSX.NET Dispatch to the community.

I have written a manual and hopefully it all makes sense.  Any questions just ask here.

See the first post in this thread for the download link.

Good luck!

What settings do i need to get the weather module connected in simconnect?

In my SimConnect.xml
Code: [Select]
<SimConnect.Comm>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Protocol>IPv4</Protocol>
<Scope>local</Scope>
<Address>10.0.0.16</Address>
<MaxClients>64</MaxClients>
<Port>29800</Port>
<MaxRecvSize>8192</MaxRecvSize>
<DisableNagle>False</DisableNagle>
</SimConnect.Comm>

Simconnect.cfg:
Code: [Select]
[SimConnect]
Protocol=IPv4
          Address=10.0.0.16
Port=29800
MaxRecvSize=8192
DisableNagle=0

And in PSX.NET the P3D IP is 10.0.0.16 with port 29800. Windows firewall port 29800 is opened.

Thank you Gary for your fine program

Three  thoughts from 2 flights EGLLLIRF

Assuming I am doing everything correctly. (And that would be a first!)

First flight I received my final load sheet on landing and not at all on the second.

Second I entered crew JDA/HBA/JGA etc and although recorded on the FMC and out side the allowed two boxes.

Third The on block time was not recorded/landing pilot would not record. Print out was great  but got a series of "bbb's" for fuel loaded and ETE. I did send it off but not recorded in pilot records.

Any way these are my thoughts.

Cheers
Derek.

p.s. Great flight plan but will have to cut down a lot of trees to print it fully. 52 pages for the above flight.

Are you sure you were not flying from PTPN to PTKK? This symptom is too familiar to me...

Derek,

I have had a quick look at the database and I think I can see whats going wrong here, so a couple of things to try...

Second I entered crew JDA/HBA/JGA etc and although recorded on the FMC and out side the allowed two boxes.
The Crew Codes have to be 5 characters, I will try and add some more helpful error messages and stop you being able to enter 3 characters in a future version.  I wonder if this has caused an unexpected error later on in the BACARS code.

First flight I received my final load sheet on landing and not at all on the second.
Third The on block time was not recorded

I think something has happened out of sequence which has caused the ACARS system to not sense off blocks, taxi or on blocks correctly.

You should start on stand with the Parking brake set, and the engines shut down.  Then you enter the details in the FLT INIT page. Once the Parking Brake is released the Out Time will show.  Once you have started the engines the Loadsheet will start being prepared and sent after around 5 minutes, the cabin crew will also start preparing the cabin.

landing pilot would not record. Print out was great  but got a series of "bbb's" for fuel loaded and ETE. I did send it off but not recorded in pilot records.
So the FOB and ETE should be entered on the FLT INIT page once fueling is complete and before taxi.  I think the fact you couldn't send the landing pilot or the report was because the Off, On, Out, In times were incorrect.

p.s. Great flight plan but will have to cut down a lot of trees to print it fully. 52 pages for the above flight.

I will add the preference of a slimmed down flight plan, we find we usually print the first 6 or so pages.  I will add this to the next version.

Anyway, have a go with 5 letter codes and making sure you start with the engines off and parking brake set and let me know how you get on.  Any issues please let me know.

Cheers
G

Derek,

Also in order to get a loadsheet you would have had to request a PERF REQ before starting engines.

Dispatch Web Has been updated to V1.9.7

-VATSIM Prefile now files the correct alternate rather than the destination airport
-Added Preferences to allow choosing of Map format and whether to display NOTAMs to shorten flightplan
-More Validation on Crew Names
-Corrected UI issues on Schedule Page
-Page will no longer crash if Departure or Destination airport are not found

There is also a matching BACARS V4.0.4 which is available to download from the BACARS Thread.

Title: Re: Released: PSX.NET Dispatch Suite
Post by: Felix. on Sun, 28 Jan 2018 13:53
Gary,

My final loadsheet value from the printout is different also to the original i uplink from the dispatch suite and it then overwrites to this new value. Coincidentally its the same value as i get if i was to request weight and balance from within BACARS. (the old code)

I.e:

- I request init data in BACARS which then uplinks the desired ZFW from the flight plan - 235 ZFW in this case, which i've checked automatically sets in PSX. Pre-fuel and loading all good so far.

- Once i push off stand I receive my final loadsheet print out which now says 219.5 and when I check the ZFW in PSX it has changed it to this value.

HTH

Just thinking how to do my Navigraph subscription and link it with Simbrief. I have PSX 1803. So I could sign up to the Navigraph monthly for 1 month to get 1803 in Simbrief, then cancel as there is no need to keep it up to date?
Title: Re: Released: PSX.NET Dispatch Suite
Post by: mgeiss on Thu, 1 Mar 2018 09:38
Should work. You can select a cycle to unlock and set active in simbrief, and this will be kept until you update with a later cycle and set that one active in Simbrief. But even if you set a later cycle active, you can still temporarily revert to an older one, and Simbrief will use that.

So in my case, I can select 1703 or 1803 for use in PSX, but also other cycles (older or newer) for use in other flightsim addons.

There's only one catch: If you forget to unlock a cylce as long as it's the current one (e.g. 1803 for now), you can't unlock and use it for Simbrief later. So e.g. I never unlocked 1802 in Simbrief, and so I'm not able to unlock or use that cycle anymore.

Notice that PSX has been built so that flight plans/routes generated for other NAV cycles than its own will just work. Route loads will contain absolute coordinates for fixes and navaids on top of their names, so that you can fly with whatever you generated no matter the FMS database you have. It won't work 100% all the time but quite well most of the time.

I just performed my first flight from YMML-YSSY using this amazing suite.

The integration between SimBrief, BACARS (which I incidentally also love using), and PSX is absolutely astounding. You and the development team aught to be very proud :)

Thank you so much for your dedication to providing add-ons that contribute to more realistic and immersive experience for the PSX community!

Best wishes,

Title: Re: Released: PSX.NET Dispatch Suite
Post by: James H on Thu, 26 Apr 2018 12:08
Hi Garry,

I have also had this issue. I'll try to reproduce it to confirm, but the order as it first occurred to me was:

1) Using BACARS on the FLT INIT page, I put in the FLT NO and then select INIT DATA REQ. The data then downloads.
2) Checking the PSX Aerodynamics tab, the ZFW agrees with what is in the Simfest loadsheet and OFP (in my case ZFW 233.6).
3) Using BACARS on the PERF REQ page, I set up and sent off all the required data based on the data in the Simfest loadsheet.
4) I then Input the required data into the FMC PERF INIT and THRUST LIM page.
5) Using BACARS on the WT/BALANCE page, I select WT/BAL REQ, and then SEND.
6) The BACARS loadsheet then gave me a different ZFW (in my case 194.2). I also got a FMC warning of "TAKEOFF SPEEDS DELETED."
7) When I checked the PERF INIT page and the PSX Aerodynamics tab, the ZFW had changed to 194.2.

I'm not 100 % on the proper order a professional crew would setup ACARS and the FMC, so maybe I'm doing things in an order that the system wasn't designed for. I'll put on my Deerstalker and grab a magnifying glass next time I fly and try and give you every detail.

James.

Ah!

Yes don’t use the WT/bal Request page at the moment, it has a bug and shouldn’t even do any of this.

I’ll fix it in the later versions, however peter said it doesn’t actually appear to do anything in real life.

Gary

As far as I know (and this was a rumor) it’s only function in BA was to bring on an attention getter of some sort in the Heathrow Load Control unit to say “hurry up - we are holding at the end of the runway with 8 aircraft behind us and no-one can move until we get the final loadsheet etc”.
Of course this didn’t happen very frequently ;-)
I used to push it nevertheless because it made me feel better...
I don’t know the dynamics of this, or even if it worked at all. It may be more advanced now - but it didn’t deliver a new loadsheet automatically, that’s for sure..

“hurry up - we are holding at the end of the runway with 8 aircraft behind us and no-one can move until we get the final loadsheet etc”.
Yeah yeah been there done that ... except that it wasn't 8 behind me but one out on long final after oceanic to our island runway ... and we had backtracked ...

Crew looking at ACARS... then at me... Me looking at the mountain range due West, 3000 ft... Iridium tracker showing satellite due West, 15 deg above horizon... clock... tick tick tick tick tick tick tick... nerve wrecking!

All,

Turns out I already fixed the problems above in V4.0.5 which has been installed in my simulator for a few months!  Link below!

V4.0.5
======
-Fixed bug with PSX ZFW varying wildly after start
-Final Loadsheet MACTOW now correct even if using an uplink of crew data
-Fixed no loadsheet if FOB not entered on ACARS Page
-FOB Figure now overrides Prefuel value so you can add to flightplan fuel and then prefuel it pressing 'ready to board'

Hello Gary,
first of all thank you very much for this brilliant addon !!

I have a quick question...
I am wrong or it seem that the default MTOW is always 381017 Kg.

Could it be possible to adapt this maximum weight ?
What if I want to fly an ER version or a non ER version with a MTOW of 396890 Kg. ?

Thanks !

Ahh yes good spot.  This was setup for my Sim which is a BA Lite version without the stab tank.

I will add this to the todo list.

Cheers
Gary

Thank you very much !

In Simbrief, under "My Fleet" I have two "Saved Airframes" ( one 744 and one 744ER) , but not sure if and how I can use them in Simfest Dispatch Centre.

Thanks again Gary for all your stuff.
Much appreciated.
