Hi all,

After over a year of hard work I'm happy to announce a new add-on: Central Maintenance Computer for Precision Simulator 10 (CMC-PSX (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0G5Q-IB1nw_b20yUHFiVl8yUGs/view?usp=sharing)).

Since each CMCS is an aircraft specific, and since there are many variations of systems (and hence many variations of CMCSs), and since I didn't have manuals that cover all aspects of the real CMCS, this add-on is defined as "Concept Demonstrator" and not a 100% replica of a certain version of a real CMCS.

CMC-PSX implements:
• Present Leg Faults
• Confidence Tests
• EICAS Maint Pages (partially implemented, there are no maintenance display in the lower EICAS but there are reports to simulate it)
• Ground Tests (some tests simplified)
• Existing Faults
• Fault History
• Other functions (partially implemented)

CMC-PSX has one more function which is not part of the real CMC. CMC-PSX allows viewing switches and lights with blown bulbs in them and a list of pulled circuit breakers. CMC-PSX also overrides PSX simplification when blowing a bulb inside PSX to ensure when blowing a bulb within PSX, you will be able to see it.

For more information please read the user guide.
Also, please read the Installation and Initialization page (P. 4) in the manual before starting CMC-PSX for the first time.

I want to thank Hardy for PSX, for inviting me to be part of the Alpha team and to all the Alpha and Beta team members for testing this add-on.

Edit 7/10/22; new in V1.12:
A Snake game was implemented. To start, type SNAKE into the scratch pad (no matter which page in CMC-PSX is displayed), or, for the lazy ones (I mean myself) just S and press EXEC. Use keys 2, 4, 6 & 8 to control the direction. Pressing EXEC (even in the middle of the game, not only after a failure), will start a new one. Press CLR to end the game and return to the previous page. The game starts with a 500ms delay between moves and accelerates by 10ms with every piece up to length 30 and 5ms above. Length record is saved in the ini file.
Inspired by Steve Browny from this thread (https://aerowinx.com/board/index.php/topic,6834.msg73738.html#msg73738).

Thanks again, Avi, for this huge contribution!

This is one of that kind of programs that appear in form of "text" on a screen, not showing how much work it actually takes to make that "text" alive. I hope the users of this add-on will be aware that the many CMC pages and functions on the visible surface are just the "tip of the iceberg". This add-on is a very big program.

I just added it at http://aerowinx.com/html/addons.html

This is all very improbable!

1,  We have about 9 billion people in the world.

2,  Hardy and his work are unique within this 9 billion person sample.

3.  Therefore, Avi and his CMC cannot possibly exist at the same time as PSX!!  The improbability factor and the improbability principle won't allow it!!

http://improbability-principle.com/the-laws-of-the-improbability-principle/

(insert friendly grins here)
-------------------

EDIT:
The improbability principle of course applies to ALL the PSX add-ons, not just the newest one...it's quite amazing how many exceptionally talented aviation software developers participate actively in this very specialized hobby/profession.

Hi all,

I'm releasing CMC-PSX v1.0.1.

Thanks to Hardy and PSX version 10.0.2 (the implementation of the "demand" command) I can now improve few maintenance reports.

In this version of CMC-PSX the Flight Control report displays real PSX flight controls deflections (and not assume values), the (engines) Performance report displays real PSX engine numbers (and it is now available at any time, not only when all engines are out) and the APU report displays real PSX (N1, N2, EGT and OIL QTY) values and some other values that are based on these values (however some values are still static).

In this version I also made a small modification to the engines Input Monitoring function (approach idle bit) to agree with Hardy's modification in PSX version 10.0.3 (item 36 in B10).

If you already downloaded the full CMC-PSX package (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0G5Q-IB1nw_b20yUHFiVl8yUGs/view?usp=sharing) you don't need to do it again.
All you need is to download the CMC-PSX Jar file (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0G5Q-IB1nw_RUVCN1BvNWl2Y2s/view?usp=sharing) and override the old one.

You can also download the new version of the manual (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0G5Q-IB1nw_a1BNQ3lhUkZHVXM/view?usp=sharing&resourcekey=0-LkhwNSixnNfwgBpEA0akGw) but it is not necessary (there are minor changes in pages 40, 45 and 47 and that's it).

Enjoy yourself.

I've amended the .ini to the correct PSX folder on my PC. What am I missing?  :D

Hello ?

I just rechecked for you and I am able to connect.  My CMC files are on a SECONDARY support PC that is networked with the primary PC with Server and Boost Server connections.

Just checking, did you select the tick box in the CMC window?  Do you have good connections with other addons?  Is your IP configured correctly- PREFERENCES/Basics shows the main sim IP.....

Hi frogone,

Did you start the PSX Server?

Some more information:
PSX_PATH in the ini file has nothing to do with CMC-PSX start (it needed to play some PSX wav files during some Ground Tests).

If you run CMC-PSX on the same computer as PSX it should connect with no problems at all. If you run CMC-PSX on different computer then you need to modify the IP address in the ini file (don't change the PORT number).

You get the above message when CMC-PSX can't find PSX which means PSX server is OFF or the IP/PORT in the ini file are wrong.

Cheers,

P.S. To find how to start PSX server read page 70 in the PSX manual.
To find your PSX's computer IP address read page 86 in the PSX manual.

Hi,

PSX update 10.0.5 (item 0.5.0050) modified some of CMC-PSX required data and caused a mini problem with the APU maintenance report (wrong EGT).

Therefor I release CMC-PSX update 1.0.2 which fixes this problem.
All you need to do is download this CMC-PSX.jar (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0G5Q-IB1nw_WjJWMzFFejBsbHM/view?usp=sharing) file and override your existing file. No need to download the full package (which is still update 1.0.1) and no changes to the manual.

You should use CMC-PSX 1.0.2 only with PSX 10.0.5.

Cheers,

Hi,

With the official release of PSX version 10.0.7, I'm releasing an update version for CMC-PSX: 1.3 (note that I changed the version counter).
This version should be used with PSX version 10.0.7 and above.
This version was compiled on Java 1.7 unlike previous versions which were compiled on Java 1.6. If you have problems running it, tell me and I will compile it with Java 1.6.

New in version 1.3:
• Bug fix: ECS maintenance conditioning report: Pack 3 is off (print no air flow) if FWD or AFT fire ARM switch is pressed.
• Bug fix: ECS maintenance conditioning report: Pack 2 is off (print no air flow) if FWD, AFT or MAIN fire ARM switch is pressed in combi or freighter.
Flaps Control failure messages were modified to agree with PSX 10.0.7 (the non-severe case was modified from 3 RVDTs failure to FCUs L & R failure).

All you need is to download the new jar file which can be found here (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0G5Q-IB1nw_NDU1UTJMa3U1OFE/view?usp=sharing) and override the existing one.

Cheers,

Hi,

With the release of PSX latest version in general and the new set of sound files in particular, I updated my CMC-PSX and introducing ver 1.4 (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0G5Q-IB1nw_RnZ3Wm5nU0dOZzQ/view?usp=sharing).

In this version when you test the EGPWS you will hear the old or new wav files as you select it in the Instructor / Model / Warning page.

You can find this test under Ground Tests / Navigation Radios (page 5/6) / EGPWS (page 3/5) or, much shorter, under Confidence Tests (in the main menu page).

Note you should set your PSX path in the CMC-PSX.ini file or you won't hear anything. If your path is wrong, you will get an error message in the software window.

Have fun,

Hi cav,

RTFM is an excellent start  ;)

Unfortunately a YouTube video is "no go" since I neither have a tool for this nor the time (I "unintentionally" found few hours yesterday to do it and if wasn't done in these few hours I don't know when I would have done it).

Since I figured out many users will have no knowledge at all about the CMC I tried to create a very detailed manual (some may say it has too much information) that will explain everything.

I suggest you to take it easy. Read it carefully step by step and try to generate malfunctions in PSX to see what you get in the CMC-PSX (you have a table that tells you exactly what kind of message(s) you get for each PSX malfunction).

If you have any question just ask here. I will find the time to answer (even at 4am  ;D ).

Cheers,

Hi Avi

I'd like to add my thanks to you for this piece of the PSX add-on suite.  I've found it very educational, poking around different aspects of the 744.  As a recent example, while I was reviewing the WXR information in the Collins WXR-2100 guide I noted under "Test-Boeing Aircraft" the following "Alternately, the test procedure can be initiated through the Central Maintenance Computer (CMC) on the B747 ...".  And, sure enough, I found it after a little searching in the CMC-PSX menu - worked as advertised.  Minor question - I found it a little strange that WXR was grouped under >34 Navigation Radios, but I guess from a maintenance point of view any system involved with emitting and/or receiving RF energy is similar, no matter what the frequency.

Another question when you or one of the pilots have a chance:  I have frequently heard the Confidence test being run in the cockpit by the flight crew when boarding or (on occasion) when I'm seated in the first cabin.  I've wondered when this is usually run - is it part of the normal pre-flight checklists and flows (company specific?) or done on a schedule or only after maintenance etc.

Thanks again
Cheers,
Torrence
Title: Re: New add-on: Central Maintenance Computer for PSX (CMC-PSX)...now v1.4
Post by: Avi on Tue, 10 Jan 2017 00:26
Thanks Torrence,

In the manuals the WXR is indeed a chapter (43) in the Navigation manual (34) and I don't even think it is a Boeing decision; it is probably a "higher" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATA_100) decision.

Regarding the second question: I don't think a pilot should do anything with the CMC but it is possible that some airlines have different rules about it and different pre-flight checklist. I'll the pilots here to give you an "official" answer.

Anyway, once Hardy will officially release 10.1.1 I will need to release update 1.5 to adjust the updated Flap Control failure to a correct CMC message.

Cheers,

QuoteI found it a little strange that WXR was grouped under >34 Navigation Radios,

It's used to "navigate" around clouds :) Also, coastlines can be used as references (the weather radar picks these up quite nicely).

I vaguely recall a pilot reporting that he needed x degrees on his radar to pick up a coastline, whereas it normally took y degreees. This could either be a gain problem or a tilt problem (at least on the old radars)
Title: Re: New add-on: Central Maintenance Computer for PSX (CMC-PSX)...now v1.4
Post by: torrence on Tue, 10 Jan 2017 02:06
Thanks Avi and John

Avi - I should have asked a more complete question.  I assumed it was the flight crew running the tests because 1. I've heard it fairly frequently and 2. there wasn't any obvious running about by folks with maintenance badges and clipboards seeking signatures etc.  I couldn't see who was actually running the tests usually.  So maybe the right question is "How often and why is the confidence test run and by whom?"

John - you're right, use for navigation in MAP mode does make it a navigation 'radio'.  In fact, I've used it fairly frequently for that purpose in PSX in lieu of switching to Position on the Instructor's Station.

Cheers,
Torrence

QuoteAnother question when you or one of the pilots have a chance:  I have frequently heard the Confidence test being run in the cockpit by the flight crew when boarding or (on occasion) when I'm seated in the first cabin.

The rules can be very confusing regarding the testing of radar. A lot of civil aviation authorities still have some very old fashioned rules about when to not run the radar (despite the advances of radar technology). i.e. limits on running radar within relatively large distances of aircraft being fuelled, people and buildings. Maintenance manuals still seem to have the same antiquated restrictions.

On the other hand, I've just read an FCOM which says running the radar in a hangar in "TEST" is ok (is this to appease engineers?), yet engineering manuals say that  radar systems do transmit (for a short period) during test. The newer radars have far lower outputs and have protection against very high signal level returns (expected if, say, the terminal building walls or hangar walls were only a few feet away) but would you want to test the limits of that protection?

Some FCOM manuals may say no ops within 50 feet of a fuel spill rather than a fuelling aircraft.

I would expect the flight crew to test the radar during taxy, but I'll let the pilots chime in here.

Although some flight crew do go into the CMC at times (Some know how to change the Performance Factors on the Maintenance pages), they really are opening up a can of worms. Some CMC tests may result in the systems being tested more deeply (e.g. If carried out as per the maintenance manual fire tests will lock all four engine bleed valves closed). Confidence Tests fall into a vague area. Sometimes the maintenance manual specifies the use of them, sometimes the CMC Ground Tests. I'm not sure why the flight crew would need to use them (especially with passengers nearby or if fuelling is in progress)

Certainly in my experience we never did ground tests with the CMC. We wouldn't understand the significance of what we were seeing anyway. It would be a significant drain on our available pre-flight time.
Some airlines might do a fire test maybe but there is no Boeing requirement for the pilots to do this.
Also we wouldn't test the wx radar before or during flight ( except by accident).
Peter.

Thanks for comments.  Just to be clear however, what I've heard occasionally with the cockpit door ajar was only the EGPWS aural warnings cycling through.  I'd just assumed it was a common check or something had been repaired and they were just testing the system.  I remember being a little surprised that they weren't a little worried about passengers hearing bells and whistles and WINDSHEAR, WINDSHEAR, PULL UP, PULL UP etc. even though we were on the ground.

Some aircraft types (certain Fokkers etc.) have a GPWS test button on the instrument panel. On my jump seat flights I saw the crew using that button during preflight. The repertoire of call-outs was rather small though. The test was passed in less than 20 seconds or so.

In the classic (747-100/200/300) cockpit there were several push buttons above the engines gauges to test several systems. You can see them in this picture (http://www.airliners.net/photo/Lufthansa/Boeing-747-230BM/330743/L?qsp=eJwljEEKwkAMRe/y191MrSLd2QvowguETNSBaockBUvp3R2nu8fj8Vbw9HH5%2Bn3Jgh4mpPxCg0xKb0O/gpKy0sMHssR71nbh2GA2UfSHcGob2KQ%2BLGUQyeXCLNklYvdXjf8QUYzr%2BVkWoYDorTLOXfExWR6pPsQpjdi2H2lnM7M%3D).
Pilots, in the past, maybe did use them (although they do look hidden).

In the past there was quite a bit of pre-flight testing going on. When I was on 707's I should think about half of the stuff we did pre-flight was pushing test switches and buttons. It proved very little except that pilots were a very paranoid lot in those days...(and of course now we have "self-testing").

Hi all,

With the release of PSX v 10.1.1 I'm releasing an update for CMC-PSX (v 1.5). (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0G5Q-IB1nw_QVIweXNqMTRwMXc/view?usp=sharing)

There are 3 modifications in this version:
1.   CMC fault messages were modified to agree with the modified Flap Control Malfunction in PSX version 10.1.1.
2.   Input Monitoring for the different Equip Cooling Valves position (E/55/270/0) was modified to agree with PSX. Also, each valve now has its own response timing. *
3.   Eng X Ignitor Y status messages (inside CMC-PSX) are now defined as latched.

* In the latest PSX version Hardy added the Equip Cooling Valves position to the Analysis / Misc page. The valve positions can also be seen in CMC-PSX (under Input Monitoring function **).
However, while in PSX you can see only Open/Close positions, in CMC-PSX you can see Open, Not Open, Close and Not Close (2 bits display).
Also, in CMC-PSX each of the valves has its own time to response and to move from Open to Close so when the system configuration changes the display is very dynamic.

To learn how the Input Monitoring system works please refer to the CMC-PSX User Guide pages 77-82.
The bits for the Equip Cooling Valves are listed here:

Using the latest version, I'm experiencing what appear to be random sim freezes after CMC-PSX is connected.
After disconnecting the addon, PSX works normally.

Anyone else experiencing the same?

OK,

What do you mean by random freezes? Does it freeze and after few milliseconds unfreeze?
Does it unfreeze only after you disconnect CMC-PSX?
What does happen if you reconnect again?
Does it happen to you every time you start / connect CMC-PSX?

Thanks.

Hi,

Deleting the ini file and letting CMC-PSX create a new one from scratch may have fixed all my issues.
I'll get back to you if the problem persists.

Hi,

I think there's still something going on...

For testing I mainly used the situation "Basic 001 - On ground and IRS aligned" but the problem appeared during other situations as well.

QuoteWhat do you mean by random freezes? Does it freeze and after few milliseconds unfreeze?

Initially I thought the freezing was completely random but I may have found something relevevant.
Here's a screenshot of the center cdu after CMC-PSX is connected and the LSK L6 was clicked:
https://imgur.com/a/ooJAr

The CMC menu should open up, but as you can see, that doesn't happen. At this point, it is still possible to click things but after some seconds (maybe 10-15s, the time varies a lot) PSX freezes up completely and doesn't update or handle input of any kind. The freezing appears to be permament.

QuoteDoes it unfreeze only after you disconnect CMC-PSX?

Yes, disconnecting or quitting CMC-PSX seems to be the only way to unfreeze the sim.

QuoteWhat does happen if you reconnect again?

The situation described above repeats. The total freezing usually happens a lot sooner than the first time.

QuoteDoes it happen to you every time you start / connect CMC-PSX?

Yes, but this problem seems to be specific to v 1.5. I haven't had any problems with v.1.0.1.

I think I've found a workaround for this problem. After PSX freezes:
- quit CMC-PSX
- delete FaultHistory.log
- restart and reconnect CMC-PSX

After that, CMC-PSX appears work correclty until the end of the session. After a CMC-PSX restart, the problem is back again.
Initially I thought it might have been a file permission issue but I have read/write permission to all the files in the directory.

If there's something I should further clarify or test something else, please let me know.

I highly doubt file reading has anything to do with it since I didn't change anything since V1.0 (when you deleted the ini file CMC-PSX didn't connect to PSX automatically so this may be the reason why you thought everything was ok).

It may have something to do with DEMAND vars but I will look into it only at the weekend.

Thanks,

Yeah, thinking back, deleting the ini file probably had nothing to do with it.
Deleting the  FaultHistory.log does help, though. But I'm unsure what the reason is...
I hope you'll find something out. I appreciate your work!

Dear Avi,

I tested the v1.5 as well and I also had similar problem. When I started CMC, I had the option to slected CMC-PSX in the CDU C. When I clicked on it to active CMC-PSX, line 6L stated: CMC-PSX <ACT> and nothing did happen.

With the CMC-PSXa.jar everything works as previously (i.e. menu shows up and I can run tests).

Thanks!

Avi,

I've run the sim and the addon for several hours now, and I've had no problems whatsoever.
I'd say the issue has been resolved.

Thanks again for your work!

Just out of interest, do you think the freezing had something to do with the demand vars like you suspected?
Title: Re: New add-on: Central Maintenance Computer for PSX (CMC-PSX)...now v1.5
Post by: Avi on Sat, 8 Apr 2017 12:31
The problem was not with the demand vars themselves but with the way I handled one of them and this is what I changed.

I succeeded to reproduce the problem when selecting CMC-PSX in the CDU I didn't get the MENU page when I started CMC before PSX (but PSX kept working) but it worked ok when I started CMC after PSX.

I hope it will be ok now. I will release it as an official version on Monday.

Since the test version runs without any problem, I'm officially release v1.5a (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0G5Q-IB1nw_YzRHT0NQMFNGbTQ/view?usp=sharing).
This version fixes a freeze problem some users had.

Hi Avi,

as far as I recall, your CMC confidence test plays EGPWS sound files directly, right? If you like, you can also play EGPWS sounds simply by a Qi network command. This also takes the PSX user's audio preferences settings into account.

In PSX 10.1.8 there will be an optional "5" call-out for CAL Cargo Airlines. There'll be no additional sound file; PSX will just play the first syllable of the existing "500" sound file :-)

Yes it does but the modification is very "big" for the little time I have now.

Hi,

I read more than once that some guys want an option to Pause PSX at TOD.
Well, this feature is now part of CMC-PSX.

I modified the software frame and instead of "Turn on indication lights" (part of Hardy's add-on example that I left for unclear reason) now you can select to Pause PSX when VNAV DES becomes active (so it is not TOD function, it is VNAV function). If checked and starting early descent, PSX will pause).
Note that once PSX is paused, the check box is de-selected.

Another modification in this version is that PSX now plays the TCAS and EGPWS audio files during Ground Test instead of CMC-PSX so user audio preferences in PSX are now taken into account.

All you need (if you have CMC-PSX) is to download the latest jar file (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0G5Q-IB1nw_S3F1cGxfMWowQTA/view?usp=sharing).

If you don't have it yet, first download the full package (you have a link in the first post), install it (instructions in the user guide) and then download the new version.

Have fun,

Hi

With the release of PSX 10.26 (I know, it is 10.28 by now) and its new malfunction (26.04 Aft Cargo Temp Overheat), I updated CMC-PSX as follow:

• CMC-PSX now generates a CMC fault message when EICAS message TEMP CARGO HEAT is displayed.
Cargo Heat Sytem Ground Test will now fail if the malfunction is active.

All you need is to download the updated jar file. (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wCESO4KlLTtcuqGolHLZZnuoYp8Ct06G/view?usp=sharing)

Also in this version, the APU Ground Test will fail now if the APU N1/N2 malfunction is active (it already failed it the APU controller wasn't power ([P6 K18] circuit breaker was out).

Hi,

Version 1.9 is up (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-VRaHmEr9PSUbXoElCDZy1e3psBiZI1D/view?usp=sharing).

In this version CMC-PSX generates only the X Radio Control Panel Fail fault messages and not the VHF-X transceiver fail messages (X=Left / Center./ Right).
The VHF-X messages still exist in CMC-PSX since they may be displayed as history messages.

Post by: Hardy Heinlin on Sat, 19 May 2018 20:31
Hi Avi,

thank you for the update. Just a little detail, if you don't mind: In the previous version, the note with the CB cycling was actually correct; it was just the word "transceiver" that was incorrect. It should read "RCP" instead. Cycling the CB will fix the RCP fault, not any transceiver fault (there is no transceiver fault, just an RCP fault).

Severe: RCP fault, replace the RCP
Non-severe: RCP fault, cycle the CB to reset the RCP

Old incorrect version:
Non-severe: Transceiver fault, cycle the CB to reset the transceiver

You see what I mean?

Yes, I see what you mean but there is another problem now.
I know that NOTES exist. I don't know what it says in general and in this failure in particular. All of the notes in CMC-PSX (maybe but very very few) are mine.

From CMC point of view I don't know when a RCP failure occurs, if it can tell to cycle the CB or the unit needs to be replaced.

Thinking... thinking... thinking...

I modified the notes so it says to cycle the CB and if it doesn't work to replace the unit.

V1.9a is up. (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ByCRIBHwd1yDXQt9Cm6AXv-DRYmHjRS4/view?usp=sharing)

Hi,

I noticed I didn't upload an update for CMC-PSX for over 2 years even though I kept it up to date with PSX.

In this version (V1.10):
•   Equip Cooling system: Bypass, Exhaust and Supply valves (position can be monitored in the Input Monitoring function) now powered by AC2 and not AC1 as in PSX 10.43 item 10.
•   IRS excessive map drift & IRS NAV mode failure malfunctions messages modified to agree with PSX 10.80 items 5 and 6.
•   IRU Ground Tests modified to agree with PSX 10.80 items 5 and 6.
•   Fault History Report title: SYMMARY -> SUMMARY
•   TOGA switch Ground Test now has a 1 sec delay before throttles start moving.
•   Packs Hi Flow logic was modified to agree with PSX 10.89 item 7. Pack status can be checked in the ECS maintenance report or in the Input Monitoring function for the bleed air system (the effect in item 8 does not model in CMC-PSX).
•   4 new CMC messages were added for the next EICAS (old and new in PSX 10.80 item 2) advisory messages:
o   PASS OXYGEN ON
o   >CREW OXY LOW
o   SUPRNMRY OXY ON
o   SUPRNMRY OXY LO

All you need to do (if you already have CMC-PSX) is to load the jar file (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1P9YWDwEPljcVzABvOrcMyTf6RH_42GJU/view?usp=sharing) and override the old one.
If you are new to CMC-PSX, download first the CMC-PSC package in the first post and then update the jar file.

Have fun.

Post by: Avi on Wed, 30 Sep 2020 21:07
Hi,

I took a deeper look.
CMC-PSX (aka CMC) uses hundreds of PSX variables. Indication Lights Test switch is not one of them 😊
It did in the past since it was part of Hardy's example code and it even stayed for several versions but at some point I removed it (when I added "Pause at VNAV DES").

When you set this switch to TEST, CMC (and any other add-on for that matter, you need to think about it) gets over a hundred of variables, "process" them (actually do nothing) and send them back to PSX (to make sure they are still the same in PSX).

When you switch a Fuel Control Switch to RUN (especially the first one), "big" things happen inside CMC (it is the signal for a new flight leg and there are several internal updates) but it has nothing to do with a fire handle in general or its solenoid in particular.

I really want to see what happens on your side.

Cheers,

Post by: Avi on Fri, 30 Oct 2020 19:40
Hi,

I uploaded version 1.11

In this version:

• Bug cleared: when Indication Lights (IND LTS) switch was held at TEST for less than 2.25 sec in general and less than 0.75 sec in particular, CMC-PSX caused a "light show" in PSX (mainly in the overhead panel). You may want to test it before you download the new version 😊
• Ground Tests: AFDS / Mode Control Panel (MCP) test was modified. When LCD MCP is installed. FCC sets MCP values (speed, heading, V/S & altitude) directly and doesn't rotate knobs or the V/S wheel.

To install the new version, you just need to download the new jar file (https://drive.google.com/file/d/135CNEISZFuDuruCGpDNcQFCD7YwY6yDq/view?usp=sharing) and override the old one.

Me too 😊
This is why I said at first I don't see anything in CMC. I actually caught it by mistake.
Rodney sent me a video of the light show but it wasn't possible to see the cause of the problem in it.
I put the switch at DIM and when I wanted to switch it back to BRT, I pressed the upper side and for a split of a second it was in TEST position and then I saw it.
It was 100% coincidence.

Quote from: Hardy Heinlin on Mon,  2 Nov 2020 02:10

No, of course not. Think what would have happened during CMC start or situation loading: 400 vars * .75 sec delay = 5min (and there are more than 400 vars).

It took me some time but I noticed there was a short delay (later I found it was 750ms) after getting FWD / AFT & MAIN Cargo Fire ARM switch values. When I get them, I update the Equip Cooling valves position (if needed). The reason for the delay in the method was historic and since I added it (it wasn't in v1.0), I made more modifications and it was not required anymore. It just stayed there and until now I didn't notice it caused problems.
Now it is gone.

http://www.hoppie.nl/forum/
(it's more  than 1 MB max, but don't yell that around)

Good news Jack.

I succeeded to download all 3 files (zip, jar & pdf) on my mom computer (entered as a guest, didn't recognized me as an owner).

Alex, do you still have a problem?

Cheers,

Hi Avi,
Looks like an internet issue as I now have all files.... It was very slow to respond but several sites were today so maybe a DoS attack somewhere....

Cheers,

Hi,

I'm releasing version V1.12 of CMC-PSX.
First of all, the "silly" things in the new version:

• Optional connection to the Router canceled due to Jeroen's decision not to support it anymore.
• Packs in High Flow (can be seen in the Input Monitoring function and the ECS report) when (new conditions) vertical speed < -400 fpm, any recirculation fan is off (switch or power is off), PTCs off or cargo fire conditions exist.
• Ground Tests, MCP test: when not LCD MCP, there is a delay during FCC auto set (mechanical move).
• CMC-PSX now clears any color setting from the FMC (or from PSX).

Now the important stuff:
• A Snake game was implemented.
Inspired by Steve Browny from this thread (https://aerowinx.com/board/index.php/topic,6834.msg73738.html#msg73738)

To install the new version just download the new version (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1s4DdRsxwVgvVAphsuXo2ne5V8s8hhctb/view?usp=sharing) (jar file) and override the old one.

Cheers,

Hello Avi,

Thank you very much for your work!

Is there a way to get the CMC: EICAS Maintenance page Display with the full details?
For the moment "Display" shows the standard EICAS pages for the respective system.

Thank you,
Best Regards,

Hello,

this is a question for me actually :-)

I'm sorry, the EICAS graphics cannot be controlled by add-ons. It's technically impossible to inject any graphics.

Hi,

As Hardy said, I can't do anything in the EICAS displays, BUT, for each page you can print a report (under REPORT/PRINTER) and this one does try to simulate the maintenance pages as much as I can.
The Gear report is simulated 100%
The Electrical report is less as I don't have the Load values.
The Flight Controls page shows the structure of the maintenance report but the numbers are not 100% accurate and so on.

Cheers,
